5 Tips On Running A Successful Blog

So, I have put together 5 tips this I believe lead to the running of a successful blog.
1. Encourage Interaction.
One of the most effective ways to achieve this is by having your blog writers express an opinion on topics that attract passionate responses from readers.
Most blogging software allows for comments to be made. Some may even have like or dislike functionality. But beware, there is a delicate balance between eliciting a response, and alienating your audience. If you think your blog is too strong, it’s possible that it is. Ask your friends or collegues for their opinion before posting.
Interaction is desirable, as it increases the chances of readers sharing your content and increasing your exposure while also improving retention of your message and your brand.
2. Social network sharing icons.
A great way to encourage interaction is through social media. When we read something that interests us, we will often want to share it with others on the Internet. This is harder to do if you have not included social network sharing icons on the website or on the blog entry. Include links to social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter to increase the exposure of your content. Also be sure to share your blog content via your own social media accounts such as your Facebook and Twitter pages. See the icons below for an example.
3. Lead nurturing.
Lead nurturing, is very much as it sounds, nurturing a Lead. A Lead is a user who has directly expressed interest in your content, product or services. This may be through downloading an eBook, whitepaper, or subscribing to updates from your website. Nurturing a lead, is the process of encouraging that Lead’s interest further, with the ultimate goal of converting that lead into a paying customer or client.
Lead nurturing can be in the form of email marketing, posting interesting and relevant links on your social channels, offering discounts or limited time offers for products or services which that particular lead expressed their initial interest in.
4. Blog regularly.
A recent
Hubspot survey stated that websites that blog daily get 55% more traffic than sites which don’t blog at all.
An inactive blog does not help your SEO, it does not nurture your existing leads and it makes your website look stale and unprofessional. Follow these simple tips to ensure you and your staff continue to blog regularly;
- Share the blogging duties.
- Write up a Blogging Schedule so staff know when they are expected to produce a blog.
- Approach industry friends to get them to guest post for you
- Outsource your blogging to your digital agency
5. Write about what matters.
A common mistake is the blogger writing just about themselves – their business, their products and their services. It is your website and you want to promote it, but it is not going to interest your readers. Instead, focus on the visitors, what their problem is, what they want, and how you can solve it.
