Netflix hits Australia

Netflix... It went live into the digital cosmos of the eagerly waiting Australian public at 12.01am yesterday, and it is set to change and consume your ‘watching’ life.

Streaming content has been fast at taking over our previous patient and limited way of receiving TV. However, the days of incessant ad breaks and waiting entire weeks to get your eyes around the next instalment of your beloved and unmissable shows are over. With entire libraries of shows, series and movies at the click of a button, the shudder of guilt will become a familiar feeling when at 3am on a Tuesday night you repeat the words, “Just one more…” as you hit the play button for the 5th episode in the first season of House Of Cards.

The standout Super Bowl commercials of 2015

On average, 100 million+ Americans tune in to watch the Super Bowl. For many, the NFL grand final is more than just the game itself - it's also for the spectacle of the half time show and, of course, seeing what kind of commercials brands with enough money put up during the ad breaks. This year, a 30-second slot came with a price tag of $4.5 million.

Suffice to say, for the brands that did show ads during the Super Bowl, they would've no doubt wanted their ads to be memorable. Below are just a sample of some of the standout commercials from Super Bowl XLIX (49), with many of them making big impressions for very different reasons.

Sometimes one person's nervous fumbling for words can prove to be a marketing gold mine for a brand. This was certainly the case for Chevrolet.

In the wake of the San Francisco Giants winning the World Series, the team's very own pitcher Madison Bumgarner was announced as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). One key reward for his status of MVP was a brand new Chevy Colorado. All that remained was for one of Chevrolet's regional managers, Rikk Wilde, to present the MVP award and Chevy Colorado to Bumgarner.
